Three-phase sounds ‘better’, but for most homes it’s not automatically the right choice. What matters is your daily driving, your available supply, and how you want charging to fit into your routine.

Single-phase charging (common + practical)
- Great for overnight charging
- Lower installation complexity in many switchboards
- Often the best value for residential installs
Three-phase charging (useful, but not always necessary)
- Faster charging if your vehicle and charger support it
- Can make sense for high km drivers or multi-EV households
- May require more switchboard work and space
